Jamie Gomez, DMD
Dr. Jamie Cross Gomez is a native of the Columbia area. She attended Irmo High School and Clemson University. While at Irmo, Dr. Gomez played tennis and was a member of three state championship teams. She continues to love the game and play whenever she gets the opportunity.
Dr. Gomez graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2002 and joined her father, Dr. Richard Cross, and Dr. Kevin Raines in private practice. She is a general dentist who loves working with patients of all ages. Dr. Gomez is a partner at Palmetto Smiles Pediatric, Orthodontic, and Family Dentistry in Lexington.
Dr. Gomez is an active member of the American Dental Association, the South Carolina Dental Association, the MUSC Dental Alumni Board, and the Greater Columbia Dental Society. Volunteer work has always been important to Dr. Gomez and she routinely volunteers at the Children's Dental Health Clinic and Dental Access Days providing dentistry to the uninsured. Dr. Gomez is a member of a Frank Spear study club, which meets regularly with area dentists to discuss the latest trends in dentistry today.
Dr. Gomez and her husband live in Lexington with their two children. Her husband coaches Cross Country and Track at River Bluff High School. Both of her children attend Midway Elementary School. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with family and friends, cooking, running, yoga, tennis, and traveling.
Fitness and nutrition have always been a priority. Dr. Gomez is always ready for a challenge and has participated in numerous triathlons, the mud run, half marathons, and one full marathon. She’s never had any formal dance lessons, so signing up for Dancing with the Stars was especially challenging. However, she is ready for this year’s competition and eager to help raise money in support of Lexington One.
